About Us
Founded in 1907, the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional organization dedicated to advancing environmental knowledge and expertise by providing a neutral forum for information exchange, professional development, networking, public education, and outreach to a global community of over 5,000 environmental professionals across 65 countries. A&WMA promotes global environmental responsibility and increases the effectiveness of organizations to make critical decisions that benefit society.
The Mississippi Chapter is one of 65 Chapters worldwide, focusing on local engagement, providing members with opportunities for environmental leadership, tailored regional programming, and networking opportunities close to home. As part of the Southern Section of A&WMA, which includes chapters from Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, the Mississippi Chapter plays a vital role in fostering collaboration and advancing environmental initiatives across the region.
